V9a wont install on laptop???

Now this laptop has V7 and V8 installed side by side and works a treat.
V7 screams with DV but V8 has its issues with HDV hence why id upgrade to 9.

I havent had a chance to instal V9 on the laptop until today as the discount deal is about to finish.

But to the point. I go to run the installer and halfway through i get this screen which tells me which components are missing.
I then select to have those cmponents downloaded and installed and then the install fails.

Ive just hit the utilities section to see if it was a net framework update required or what have you but none of the required elements listed are available on this site...

Any ideas?? I'll try it again and list the 2 ellements its missing. One is a Windows media association and I cant recall the other...

When I know, i'll post again but is there any way I can get these files installed prior to installing V9?

Also V8 works a treat so why is V9 acting up now?? I heard they changed the API or something like that (whch is beyond me) but Id have thought installing the app would be a non event...

You don't need to install WMPlayer11 but you do need to install the WMF11 runtime files.

i already had that installed with the WMV encoder files from MS sight (the VLC pro codec which had the runtime files) else I couldnt render wmv to HD VC1. It specifically wanted WMP11...
