Here's the deal. I bought Vegas Audio 2.0 (full version) about 6 months ago and was using it with my standard sound card to record 2-channel audio. Basically, I would just record a track, go back and record another, and so on. I've found that when I go to playback multiple tracks (~12 or less), Vegas will sometimes pause like it can't keep up with the buffer flow. But, this doesn't happen immediately when I start playback. It seems to work for a little while (maybe 2 minutes into it....these are roughly 7 min songs) and then it hiccups through the rest of the song. Obviously, I can build a preview and play it back that way, but that's time consuming... What can I do to help this?
Another question... In any case, I just purchased the M-Audio Delta 1010 (10in10out package) and installed it on my PC last week. Will my PC be able to handle the load of recording all 8 tracks at once at least with 16bit, 44kHz or possibly 24bit, 96 kHz??? How might this relate to my question stated in the first paragraph?
The system:
Dell XPS-T450 Pentium III 450mHz
512mb PC100 Ram
13gb ATA/66 system drive
Maxtor ATA/100 Interface Card
30gb ATA/100 (vegas projects only)
M-Audio Delta 1010 w/ PCI card
Windows XP Professional (drivers all current)
TIA,
John
