VA - rendering vs. recording to new track

is there any advantage in rendering a mixed .wav file from vegas audio over, say, recording to a new file in soundforge (as the audio is playing)? i know it's a lot easier but besides that. i've still got some plugins that won't render to 24 bit (nasty screeching) and i'm wondering if i can't just set soundforge to record at 24/88 and just play the file?

You will want to render to a new track for the best sound quality. If you record, there is a greater chance that more noise or other artifacts will be introduced. See my reply about 24-Bit/88KHz here:
