VA1: Is there a way to join track events?

Is there a way to join track events in VA1 other than grouping them? In other words, when ever I punch in or split the track for any other reason, once I've got it tweaked the way I want it is there a way to put it back together as one event so I don't inadvertently move one event out of sync with the others on the track because now the track is a bunch of little events?

Hope that makes sense.

thanks

in VA2 the only way to do that is with event grouping. i assume it's the same for previous versions.

you could render your track and then it would be one event.

It seems to me I've tried that before and the result was a tremedous loss in volume. Totally unexpected by me since we're in the digital domain. It acted like the old fashioned ping pong on the cheaper 4 trk recorders.

Have you experienced loss of volume when you render say 2 or 3 tracks down to a single track?

Thanks again.

what are your track volume sliders set to? they should be at 0.

OK. I didn't know about that detail. Are you saying then that if I set my track volume to 0 regardless of what I'm after at mixdown, then I should get out the same track volume when I render as what I started with.

Thanks

I believe VA-1 had a problem with rendering volume.

If your rerason to joinning tracks is the fear of inadvertently moving one or the other, why don't you simply group them and then LOCK them !
