VASST addon problem.

ingeborgdot wrote on 10/9/2014, 11:44 AM
I purchased 2 addons. One is stillmotion and the other is stuttermotion. The problem is that it won't install on my computer. I have to have a computer with Admin rights on one side which is never used and then the user side which is only used by one person. I installed it and it does not show up. I have given the user side admin rights and tried but it still does not show up in SVP 13. What do I need to do? What am I not doing? Thanks.

I do have Still Motion too and I couldn't get it to work either until I installed VP12. It seems VASST has not updated their Add-Ons for VP13.

If you don't have VP12, maybe there is still a trial you can download.

All of the VASST plug-ins that support Vegas Pro 13.0 have been updated. You just need to go to our Downloads page and download the latest installer that recognizes Vegas Pro 13.0. I believe these were updated within the first week of Vegas Pro 13.0 shipping so I apologize if it caused any confusion for the first few days after the launch. All is good now.

Many of our plug-ins ship with Direct X presets for Vegas Pro FX. Because Direct X stores it's presets under the User hive in the Windows Registry, they must be installed by the user account that will be using them. If the user account is not an administrator, temporarily make them an administrator to install and license the software by running it at least once. Then you can make them a regular user again.

If you installed as an Administrator, it won't work because everything gets registered under the Administrator account so making the user and administrator after the fact has no affect. The user who is installing must be an administrator at the time of install and to run the product once to register it. After that they can be a regular user again.

Contact us at VASST if you need further assistance.

@JR

I actually did download the latest version but it did not recognize SVP13. Only after installing SVP12 was I able to use it in SVP13.

Why do I get virus warnings when I click on the download for time warp?

Probably because someone once wrote a virus that used the same open source installer technology that we and thousands of other developers use and now some "brain dead" anti-virus suites mark any program that uses that installer technology as a virus!

It is most likely a false positive. Always good to double check but I've had this happen to me.

I have actually had AVG anti-virus tell me that a program that I just wrote myself and finished compiling was a virus and wouldn't let me run it! Seriously, anti-virus programs have gotten out of control. I would recommend you switch from whatever you are using to something a little less aggressive.

I've had a pretty good run with Avast Free. Hardly any false positives.
And not too invasive...

I never had that message with any download from any Vasst product.or any video software company I have and use. I'm curious to why the anti virus is Jone-sing all of a sudden.
