VASST Celluloid--can I do filmlook without 24p?

I'm "evaluating" VASST Celluloid. It seems to insist on converting my video to 24p in order to do film-looks. A couple of questions...
(1)I didn't actually want to convert to 24p. If I'm happy with my "standard" format NTSV video, what would I gain by converting it to 24p?
(2)If I let it convert to 24p, can I still create DVDs, etc. the way I've always done, or will the DVD creation-process need tweaking?
(3)If I go 24p and create DVDs via DVD-A, can the DVD play on good ol' standard set-top DVD players, or does 24p require a player with special capabilities?

Leave the "Convert to 24p" checkbox unchecked, you'll be working with your standard NTSC video. It doesn't insist on it, it just does whatever you've told it to do. Uncheck that box, you'll be set.
You can apply filmlooks with or without 24p. All DVD players can play 24p DVDs. They'll either insert pulldown if the device can't handle a progressive output, or they'll just pass it along to the video display if the display can manage 24p.

(Blushing about overlooking the obvious...)

Follow-up question: Does the "Reel Pak" apply to Celluloid, or only to the whole-shebang UltimateS?

***IGNORE THAT---I went deeper into the VASST website and, another level down, found info saying that ReelPak can be used with stand-alone Celluloid as well. (I originally assumed it couldn't, because the info at the website's "top level" doesn't mention it)***
