VASST Scripts not available on laptop!

PeterWright wrote on 6/19/2006, 12:47 AM
Among my scripts I have Gearshift, Ultimate S and an excellent VASST Freeware Script, SubText.

They all work fine on my desktop, and I have also installed them on the laptop.

They have been installed into the default C:\Program Files\VASST folder, and folders containing shortcuts are installed in the C:\Program Files\Sony Vegas 6.0\Script Menu folder.

... but when I open Vegas 6.0d, they do not appear in the list under Tools\Scripting. There are approx 70 indivdual scripts, then a couple of Excalibur folders, but none of the VASST scripts are there.

Help appreciated.

Peter, if you have two versions of Excalibur installed, please uninstall the older version. It is possible that with both versions installed, there are "too many" scripts and those are simply not appearing because of that. So, remove the oldest version of Excalibur and only keep the newest version.

Edward, your instincts are working well - I uninstalled Excalibur 4 and suddenly all three VASST folders were there!

Thanks my friend - another case solved!

Actually what would be even better, is if you went to the Sony Product Suggestion page and suggest that Sony fix this limitation for Vegas 7. I guess they never figured on scripts being this popular but there is definitely a limit to the number of scripts that Vegas will see and it sees them in alphabetical order so Edward wins with Excalibur and VASST looses with Ultimate S. :(

Thanks Edward for helping Peter with this one.

Thanks Johnny - suggestion duly submitted.

To be honest, I have far too many scripts, which I think were installed with one of those Toolkit exe files - I only use about half a dozen, so I think I'll go through and have a spring clean ....
