VASST Toronto

VASST Toronto was held last Saturday and it was a real success.

Thanks to SPOT for making the trek to the 'Great White North'. I am sure I speak for all the attendees that we gained a new insight into the capabilities of Vegas.

SPOT - you're a master!

Looking forward to the next chapter of VASST Training in Toronto.

Any Canadians reading this post - if you want to be kept informed of upcoming VASST training, please drop me an email and I'll maintain a Canadian mailing list: pauncz at attglobal dot net.

As well, if you are interested in forming a Toronto Vegas users Group, do let me know. Sony Canada is interested in getting involved (that's all I can say for now).

The pleasure was all mine, Tom. You guys have a great core group up there. It was nice to see the Sony folks show up, and it was nice to see such an interactive setting.
BTW, turned out (according to hotel) that the entire southwest section of the room hadn't had the power connected. Hence the reason the breakers didn't work. Ah....the joys of brand new hotels. Discovering things. :-)
See you in the fall!

A fantastic day of training by an excellent teacher - two days later my head is still spinning! I think the greatest benefit of attending is that even though a lot of what Spot showed went by a bit too fast for me to remember how he did it, I'm super excited to try new things in Vegas now that I see how easily they can be done if you're not afraid to explore and experiment. It's an amazing piece of software.

Among the many revelations of the day for me was realizing that apart from all its video capabilities, Vegas is also a full-blown multi-track recording studio for audio. I've been using Cakewalk Pro Audio for that purpose for years, but now I'll be trying Vegas out (for any non-MIDI songs) in the future.

Thanks Spot - your enthusiasm for DV is highly contagious! And thanks to Tom for organizing the day - please do sign me up for a Toronto users group.

Indeed, an absolutely superb day. Ditto to all the above. For those of you who missed it, I believe that Spot will be back in September. Highly recommend attending it. BTW SPOT, it is a great idea of yours to post some form of tutorial based on the conference that is available to the attendees. There was so much to absorb that some of the information has already escaped me. This kind of learning does not do well with written notes since its a visual learning experience. Looking forward to receiving this.

A big thanks to Tom - see above - for making all this happen.

Glad to see that Sony got involved!

Tom - I believe that you already have my e-mail adress.

Speaking of "any Canadians"...

Any word on their ever being a VASST stop nearer to Montreal?
