Don't VCDs automatically play when you insert them? Certainly in my Pioneer DV-525, they play right away. I realize this information may not be very helpful, but I'm offering it because I'm trying to find out whether I really understand the problem you are having.

I assume your trying to play the VCD in a PC?

Most PCs will not play VCDs, if you have a DVD playing app it MIGHT play a VCD.

They will play in just about every DVD player, normally they include a menu like a DVD and I guess as such they don't autoplay.

If what you are really after is a CD with video on it that will autoplay in a PC that's quite a different matter.

"Most PCs will not play VCDs,"

farss, you've been correct on everything I've ever read, but I don't think I agree with this one. The MPEG1 files on a VCD can be read on all nine of my PCs, including one that is still running Win95. They play both in Media Player, as well as when using WinDVD.

Maybe I didn't understand correctly what you were saying.

My vcd's play fine on my pc, but i would like them to automatically start when inserted into the pc. I'm working on a business promo piece and it would be better off if the disk started on it's own.
Thanks for the replies, JM
