VCD Help

Can anyone tell me how do I know when I have enough video put together to fit on a VCD? I captured about 3 min. video off my analog camcorder and put it on CD in VCD format just to make sure I had captured it in the right format to play correctly on my TV with my APEX AD 600 DVD player. Everthing came out in very good quality on the screen. I have now put together a little over 5 min. of video and was wandering how I can tell when I have reached my limit in order to fit it on a cd in VCD format. Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Lonn

roughly about 60-70 mins can fit comfortably on a standard VCD... if you go up to SVCD you can half that number...

You can also tell by the size of a file. A CD will hold 650 to 700 megs. You need to allow a little headroom for some aux files needed for the DVD, so you want to keep your total filesize around 650 megs.
