Many DVD players have trouble playing CD-R's, you might want to try using CD-RW's instead.

Progress! With CDRW, it at least recognizes the disk and tries to play it. The video is fine. But the audio is so choppy and distorted it's virtually undecipherable.

You did use the Video CD NTSC template, right?

The symptoms you describe are typical of a bad "burn" as well as a compatibility issue either with the media or the particular DVD player you're using.

To rule out a "bad burn" pop the CD you just made into your PC. Locate the file that ends in the extension .DAT which should be in one of the folders on the CD.

In Media Player click on File, then Open then change "files of type" to show all. Double click on the .DAT file. If it plays in Media Player the burn was probably OK. If so, that would suggest either the media or DVD player may be the problem.

Thanx! I just toasted another one, and it worked.
