veg file won't open

I have edited 8 hours of an Africa safari by doing 2 hours at a time. I then combined the four veg files onto one timeline (I use Vegas 6). This was working just fine. As I did the final edit. I opened and closed the new combined veg file numerous times. Now it won't open. I get a "Vegas not responding" notice when I check systems operations.

Lots of time invested in this file. Hate, hate, hate to start over with the separate partially edited files. Any thoughts?

at works you have the backup made every time you save & the archive copies made automatically, right?

This has happened to me but Ive never lost a project due to the .bak file Vegas saves automatically. Its in the folder with the .veg file you saved.

Sorry to hear about this. In the future, use Save As every half hour, or at least once a day, to save the project under a new name. That way you'll never lose more than one session's work. I name my files:

Project01.veg
Project02.veg
Project03.veg

And so forth. This has saved my butt more than once with other programs, though I've never lost anything in Vegas.
