Vegas 10e--Can't Smart Render MPG Files

For some reason, I can't get Vegas to smart render MPG files that were created using Procoder for an HD-720-60P project. In the past, I've successfully used Procoder files for HDV 1080-60i (1440x1080) and also HD 1080-60i (1920x1080) projects, but for some reason HD 720-60P projects always re-render. I've tried to ensure that all properties are the same including GOP structure, but to no avail. I've also used the Match Media Settings button in the Project Properties dialog. I also downloaded a trial of the Tmpgenc encoder, but those files also re-render in Vegas. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I've never been able to smart-render any video files flagged as progressive (like your 720p). I have been able to smart-render progressive video that was flagged as 1080i. Not just mpeg2 either. I have never been able to smart-render any progressive flagged video in Vegas. Not DV, not Cineform, not mpeg2 (HDV, XDCam .mp4 or XDCam .mxf). If you were doing 1080p, I would suggest that you use a 60i flag, but with HD-720 60P I don't think there is any way around this save getting SCS to finally fix this.

Thanks Laurence. Good to know I'm not the only one having these problems after spending the good part of a day needlessly searching for a solution. Couple of things--first, I've had no problem with progressive Cineform files smart-rendering so long as project properties and file properties are the same. Second, just an observation. I rendered a short avi file in Vegas at HD-720 60P to see if a Vegas-created mpg would subsequently smart-render. First time, I rendered without audio--that file would not subsequently smart-render. I then re-rendered with audio and that file would smart render. Don't know what this means other than another Vegas oddity.
