Vegas 11 and Color Curve

set wrote on 11/15/2011, 9:38 PM
Seems the Color Curve is not stable in Vegas Pro 11.
in one event/clip, It works perfect, but on other event/clip, it always crashes a lot. Turning off GPU, the playback is SLOW (Preview Half), and worse then Vegas Pro 10.
I MUST made the preview quality to Quarter for smooth playback. Only apply Fill Light and Color Corrector (since Curve is NOT STABLE!)

How about other users, especially those who using Color Curve on BACKLIGHTED subject on AVCHD material ?

Now my trial is almost ended on 20th and still think whether to purchase the upgrade or not.

What are your computer specs? Of all the problems I've had with Vegas 11, (which are LOTS), I've never had a problem with color curves, which I use on every project, and playback.

Hi there,

Here's my spec:
System #1
Windows Version: 7 64-bit
RAM: 12gb
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD5700 Series
Sound Card: Intel Desktop Board DX58S02 built-in
Video Capture: Intel Desktop Board DX58S02 built-in

---

Additional Info for what I did yesterday after posting to forum:

The project is FullHD 1920x1080-25i - Stereo 48kHz
Camera 1 is AVCHD 1920x1080-25i, and I edit from native AVCHD material.
Camera 2 is older avchd camera, and resolution is limited to 1440x1080-25i.

From what I see, most crashes come when I'm about to add correction to 2nd Camera, the 1440x1080 one. I also enable external monitor through DV device to standard TV (I still keep using TV for my color correction).

Yesterday, when I'm turning off GPU, Preview-Quarter quality, I have less trouble, but seems the error are still there. I really need to save a lot.

I hope I can finish this project today, edit the highlight and intro of event (Kid's birthday party).
