Vegas 11 Pro 64bit crashes when opened

On the Sony opening screen, where it shows applications opening, it always seems to stop on "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing" and then displays the error message.

It says that the fault module is "Aticfx64.dll" which is an AMD Radeon driver?
I have a Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT video card installed. My desktop is only a year old and was running the free trial of Vegas Pro 11 perfectly until about a week ago when I started to get this error message. Now that my actual program has arrived in the mail and I've installed it, I am having the same error message.

I've updated QuickTime, did all the Windows Updates, DirectX is the latest version (11.0) have done several reinstalls of Vegas Pro 11, even tried installing the 32 bit version, etc.)

What could be going wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever have an ATI card installed?
You haven't posted your system specs in your profile - that is where forum users look for clues.

If you have never had an ATI card in this PC, then a virus may have installed a fake Aticfx64.dll

From the Control Panel, Device Manager, look for an ATI card. If it's there you can remove the driver by right-clicking on the card name.

On your second topic, the demo and the full version are identical. The "box set" is a waste of money because as soon as you install Vegas, you will be prompted to download the latest version. You can save the wait in the mail and just download the latest version and use the license key you bought.
