Vegas 12 crashes on long project

I'm building up a 2 hour long corporate training session project consisting of files from P2 cards along with a second track of low-data rate MTS files. I get to 1 hour 39 minutes of lining up the P2 files and the next file crashes Vegas. Doesn't seem to be connected to a particular MXF file. Tried several. All crash V12. Other modules in this project have been as long as 1 hour 20 minutes with as many as 55 JPEGs. All were fine.

i7 5930K, 16 GB RAM, Sapphire R9 280x graphics card. Project files on an internal drive separate from my C drive. Anyone else have this issue?

gpu off?

try rendering in small sections.

i regularly do 1hr+ projects, but always try to break them down into 15>20 sections - not that i've had any problems recently with 13, but old habits are hard to break ;-)

that said, never worked with p2. have you thought about transcoding to something more vegas friendly?

As Leslie suggests: bash it with a DI, and move on.

Doing it in sections is probably best. I'm thinking that will also help with client downloads, too. Haven't got to rendering yet. Still a bunch of stills to add to the project, but I'll try turning off GPU.

What's bash it with a DI mean?

"Bash" = hit/apply in an unambiguous and vigorous way.

"DI" = Digital Intermediate. I've successfully used Lagarith options and now use Sony MXF.

Bash I understood. DI... I feel better knowing 'digital intermediate'. So much to learn. So little time. Thanks.
