Vegas 13 and ipad

I had a client install the ipad app today and I must say it works pretty well and he was very impressed. Something I would like to see added is the ability to jump back and forth between markers since once the client drops a few he likes to review those areas over and over. I hope Sony continues to develop it as it's a nice addition and responds instantly. One thing I don't like is that there is an undo/redo button at the top of the app which will undo my edit changes. That could be dangerous. It would be nice if they added more command capability and allowed it to be customized.

Although I've no interest in this product, if SCS could develop it further (any release an Android version), it would be a real boon to those who have found it useful.

Who knows.

Sony's record of developing useful products is sketchy... just look at Acid, and we're STILL waiting for their promised replacement for Cinescore!

Yeah I'm a bit worried about that as well. I remember media manager, cinescore and about 12 half baked titling programs ;).

+1

I'd like to see:

* A third page with programmable buttons would be nice. Just like the keyboard shortcuts in Vegas Pro or similar to the Contour Design Shuttle Pro in function. Just a page of favorite shortcuts with big colored buttons and a way to label them.

* A forth page for Multicam editing that allows you to make camera changes might be nice. Pages dedicated to a particular style of editing are always helpful.

* A fifth page with faders for audio mixing is almost mandatory for an app like this. That was the first thing I looked for and was disappointed not to find.

I may have said this before, but my feeling is that Logic Remote, the free companion app for Logic Pro X and GarageBand, is the standard that this will be held to. It’s free, it’s full featured, it’s beautifully skeuomorphic, it’s a great companion app. I realize that Vegas Pro Windows customers will have never seen this but Mac customers will expect nothing less (I know I do). ;-) If any of you have a Mac in addition to your iPad, download the free Logic Remote app and check it out with GarageBand which you can also get for free on you Mac. It really enhances the editing experience.

For those of you without an iPad consider this... I paid $149 for my FaderPort and $99 for my Shuttle Pro and for that same $250 you can get an iPad mini that does all that and so much more. Dedicated hardware control surfaces are quickly being replaced by tablets and more advanced multitouch audio production consoles like the RAVEN MTX. These are real exiting times!

Where was there ever a promise to replace Cinescore?

I’m now truly interested in getting my Audio Sculpting jacked-up. Johnny’s enthusiasm for this and his appealing wishes I can only echo.

I want an 8-Track Fader surface for VP. When do I want it? Now!!
