Vegas 17 crashes immediately after install, 15 has been working fine.

Hi there,

Vegas 17 (365 version) seems to be totally instable, it crashed upon first installation, and I have tried re-installing and deleting 16 and also a newer version that was offered yesterday.

I am disapointed AGAIN in Vegas, like the old days with Sony, this is a rediculously instable product, I have NEVER had any other software crash immediatly after installation on my computer.

I have been working with 15 since it came out because 16 also crashed upon installation.

So I have actually paid for 2 updates now and havent ever been able to use one of them for a single day!

Does anybody else have this?

I was thinking maybe it has something to do with my music software, because I do see quite a lot of audio DLLs loading for VST instruments during startup, when it finally finishes adding all those DLL's , it looks like the Vegas workinspace is started and then it crashes.

 Problem:             Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
   Fault Module:        C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
   Fault Address:       0x00007FFE98956ED7

Read the forums for others experiencing similar issues, and you'll likely find out yours was easily fixed already.

Thanks, I didn't see that before, but I wonder why the Vegas support can't tell me that, I have emailed them 2 times already and I got NO reaction at all, and when I said I wanted to get my money back, they just asked for my ordernumber , instead of telling me there might be a solution...

I did however uninstall Boris completely, even though I am using their plugins in ALL of my projects, just to test and now Vegas 17 doesn't crash, it just 'disappears' after the startup loading screen without any errors...so it did change something, but is not THE solution to my problems.

My computer contains a lot of music software, DLL's of VST plugins that I also see getting loaded at startup, even though I totally don't need those in Vegas, do you know how I can get Vegas 17 to not load all this audio VST crap at all , so I can test if thats the issue? And if so, can I keep using them in the music software and not load them in Vegas? Does it remember the first time I start Vegas maybe, so I can just rename the proper folders once, startup and them rename them back? The thread you mentioned above suggest that it works that way...
