Vegas 18 purchase. No Boris title studio

K.Scott-Eisele wrote on 6/24/2021, 6:14 AM

I just bought Vegas-18 mostly to get the Boris title studio. But I see no way to add a Boris title. How do you use it? Also With the purchase of Vegas-16 it came with Boris Sapphire. The Sapphire plugins no longer work since the install of vegas-18. When I tried to download an update to Sapphire the license says that I have reached the maximum activations for the key and to remove it from another computer but this is the only one that I have it on.

Assuming that you upgraded to Vegas Pro 18 in order to get BorisFX Title Studio, and you have downloaded and installed Title Studio based on the link that would have been provided in your purchase confirmation email from MAGIX, Titler Pro should appear in Vegas Pro's Video FX window.

Re Sapphire, one possible solution is to go to your BorisFX account and from your products listing, select 'Reset' for Sapphire (can only be used once per rolling month I believe) and then activate it in its Vegas Pro plugin. Titler Pro will almost certainly need to be activated as well.

But if Sapphire was an 'extra' with VP16 rather than a direct purchase from BorisFX, does that plugin still work in VP16? If yes, it may mean that Sapphire is licence-locked to VP16 - unless of course the reset via your BorisFX account works.

Boris FX Title Studio is found in the Video FX tab. Just type in title in the search bar and it will appear if installed properly.

As for Sapphire not working, I have Sapphire from VP16 working quite will in VP18. What I did was re-install VP16 from the original installation file, and just installing the Sapphire Lighting unit. Then activate it without having all Sapphire installed.

I have Sapphire Render and Light Units working just fine from previous versions of Vegas Pro.

The problem happens when you install a later version of Boris/Sapphire which kills the previous versions installed. I re-installed only the plugin, not everything. I had nothing to lose by trying.
