Have to see what that is, could be like the Adobe 'hack' that users created for Premiere before Adobe officially released support, it worked but without the GPU acceleration of the codec which made it high cpu and lag
Maybe even a little more than just that? ;) who knows... The "squeaky wheel greaser squad" has been hard at work tackling as many requests as they could. We'll know for sure in a matter of days.
I can say this much, the team has been working hard towards releasing products in a more refined, finished state, and less "hacked together" stuff that seems half-baked. Some features may launch in beta form if they don't feel quite confident calling them complete yet, as the list above implies, but that does not mean that you should expect poor performance or stop-gap hacks to make something work. For example, VEGAS 18 unofficially supports ProRes import and export, the performance is excellent, but it is still officially in "beta" form.
Well, what I can say is, they applied for the licensing for ProRes from apple as well, and got it, which is why ProRes import and export are both in VEGAS 18, but both features are still listed as in "beta" form (and do not appear on official promotions as a result), so it's possible that when 19 comes, that we might see something similar... so, if you don't see ProRes RAW on that official feature list, maybe try to import a clip anyway? ;)
