Vegas 20 Continuum Primatte Studio - error 0x7f26da

BioGames wrote on 5/31/2025, 6:35 AM

Hi everyone,

I hope you are doing great.

So basically, I reinstalled my system just to refresh my PC, and now I am reinstalling all the software etc. And when I installed Vegas 20 and wanted to install/activate Continuum Primatte Studio upon putting in the license key I am getting this error message:

"You have reached the maximum number of activations permitted with this key. You can purchase an additional license, or uninstall from another machine and then try again. 0x7f26da."

I remember there was an option to unlink/remove the old device associated with the license key on BorisFX website, but now I cannot find it anymore for some reason... Does anyone remember this method or know of the alternative one??

I would really appreciate some help,

Thanks

On your BorisFX MyAccount, go to the Licenses listing and hit the 'Reset License' link for the Primatte Studio item. From memory, this can only be done once per month.

A good approach to avoid this problem is to de-activate programs with limited 'seat' licenses within their FX on the timeline before uninstalling Windows or wanting to activate on a new computer.

Thanks,
This is also the first place I checked, and from what I remember, I did it in the past that way... But somehow it shows me no licenses there...

The only thing that I can think of is that Primatte was registered under a different email account. You may need to contact BorisFX Support to investigate the issue.

Cheers Dexcon,

Actually, it wasn't because on the same account I can find the details and invoice for Primatte...
Oh well, I sent them the support ticket, let's see what happens.
Thanks!

To everyone wondering how things went,
You have to ask support directly right now to remove the license from other PCs.
I got a message back from BorisFX support after 24h that they removed my license from other PCs and I can use it again! :)
