Vegas 22 Build 250 refuses to utilise full NVME speeds.

I have created video proxies for my footage. I have tried both a sata ssd and my nvme that my operating system is on for the video files. I have reinstalled vegas while ensuring to delete old preferences incase I accidentally changed something last time around. I have asked a friend with the same version if he experiences something similar, he does not.

I am using Windows 11, Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb ddr4, nvidia rtx 3070 8gb. Vegas Pro 22 is build 250. I have updated the graphics drivers to the latest version. I have made sure to set my Windows power settings to high performance.

I am unsure if I had this behaviour before. I have tested the nvme with crystal disk mark and info to make sure its ok and they manage to pull all the speed from it effectively.

My files at 6gb 2k video files often over an hour in length, but as I said, I have created video proxies for them. Video preview is set to Preview (auto).

The speed reported under task manager rarely ever rises above 125MB/s, while I know iit capable of being much higher, and there is no bottleneck occurring as my cpu isnt rising above 11%, my gpu stays low, and my memory doesn't go above 14GB, despite having 64GB installed.

The problems arise when opening a vegas project, tabbing into another program and back in, and.. its just so slow, I have no idea why. Any help so I can actually utilise my hardware effectively would be appreciated.

@bl3i

In Options/Preferences, try unchecking "Close Media Files when not the active application".
