Vegas 3 doesn't trim my media !

Hello,

I'm trying to save a video clip I made with captured video from Pinnacle DC10+, so these are 768x576 25fps interlaced MJPGs AVI files.
I'd like to trim the parts of the vid I use, so I need only to deinterlace these parts, but when I save my projetc with the "copy and trim media with project" checked and select the "create trimmed copies of source media" radio button, it just copies the FULL Avi files in another directory (with audio separated), without trimming anything ! What did I do wrong ?

Thanks for any help !
Djidjo
PS : too bad there's no Avisynth support in Vegas Video, too.

What did you have your "head/tail" amounts set to?

It works here. Run another test on just one clip.

Worked for me... no idea. Earlier comment is valid (check trim length). Is it possible almost all the source was used in the timeline?

Still experimenting here, but is it possible that this only works properly with DV files? I tried a few DV files and it worked the way it's supposed to. I tried WMV and MPEG and neither trimmed; it just copied the entire file and added a .w64 file.

chien is correct- only DV and wav files are trimmed, because they can be copy/ trimmed without recompressing. Streaming files, mpeg, non-dv avi files etc would always be recompressed without special handling for each format, and we don't want to do that, so we copy those in their entirety.

VV does render MJPEG files from the DC10plus without re compressing. This would be the same thing.

I hear a REQUEST!!!

That's a pity, because MJPEG files can also be trimmed very easily without any recompressing...
