SonyEPM wrote on 12/7/2001, 9:48 AM
Several people have been asking for the Vegas 3 sample projects mentioned in the documentation. These can be downloaded as of today- all 188 megs! This is a huge download, but if you have a fast connection, you can pull them down to your local drive.

Here's the link:

Thanks, these will be helpful to those of us waiting on the CD...

...and for God's sake, get the guy who made Ass14.asf in /Test Stream some serious psychological help. Wow.

Dude!!!....Sweet!!! You guys crack me up. I really hope this sample project shows how to remove vocals on a stereo mix, or better yet....how to remove the guitar on an Ozzy Osbourne song. I always wanted a Les Paul :-)

How's that Vegas Video "Garment Remover" plugin coming along that I suggested? I still wouln't mind running a Brittany Spears video through that and watching her dance around naked.

I just got my content CD, there are no sample files. It has pca and mp3 sound effects, music bed samples and sample .mov video clips. Only the sound effects are royalty free.

I was expecting to get sample veg files with the included medea files

Is there a trick to actually GETTING the files? Everytime I've gone to the site, it has a 'page cannot be displayed' error message. Is there more to it than just putting the address in the browser?

I'm still wondering if anyone is able to download these files. I've been trying all week at different times of day and just get a 'page not available'? Is this the correct address?
ftp://porker.sonicfoundry.com
Is the site working?
Is there something I'm missing?
SonyEPM wrote on 12/11/2001, 10:34 AM
That is the correct address, and the server is working.

NS or older IE versions can make it hard to connect to FTP sites that require a username and password. In fact, IE6 is the first version where I see a fairly easy way in the menu to specify credentials for an FTP connection. You might try an upgraded browser or a stand-alone FTP program.

I wasn't able to connect with either Netscape 4.78 or WS-FTPLE (which i
find VERY strange). I finally just opened up an MS-DOS window and
typed in ftp porker.sonicfoundry.com and was able to connect that way.
Problem is, you'd have to know FTP commands (type     ? [Enter]
to get the list) and any filenames with spaces have to be surrounded
by quotation marks. But it worked.
Jason_Abbott wrote on 12/11/2001, 3:46 PM
If you have to go that route, rather than typing individual filenames you should be able to do an "mget *.*" to grab a whole directory at once. Before you do that, it's also nice to do "bin" and "hash" to set binary transfer mode and activate a download progress indicator.

Cool! I didn't know about the hash command. Thanks :)

I just cut and pasted the ftp://... from the post into the address line of IE 5.5 and all worked fine. It prompted me for a username and password and the ones that that SonicEPM posted worked.

OK, I went in IE6 to:
Tools
Internet connections
Advanced
Clicked on the button to view ftp sites as folders
Works fine.
Thanks for the tips.
