Vegas 3 so far so good, but...

Vegas 3 is working out great for me so far. The phase switches are a huge timesaver, and the program has gotten nicer in general.

Soon however, I would like to get rid of all my tape recorders, and just record straight to Vegas. I need tape style "auto input" monitoring for most of my clients, and am wondering how I am going to do this. I cant split the input to the soundcard, as this would work during recording but be a confusing nightmare for the artist during punches.

Are we any closer to VST or WDM input monitoring yet? Or hardware switching on cards that offer it?

Hey Pipeline,
Most of the new audio features have been held back until the release of Vegas Audio 3.0, next month during NAMM 2002. Those of us with Vegas Video 3.0, will be offered a free 3.0a update will the new audio features. SF has been very mum on revealing what these new audio features will be. We will just have to wait and see. I would not be at all surprised to see some kind of WDM implementation that would allow input monitoring of DX effects.
