Vegas 4.0, cut to overlap transition

Hi, I`m just a begginer in Vegas [former pinnacle user, I know, another one :o)) but I really need some help. When I create my project I count with the same way of using transitions as in pinnacle, but oohps. When I put new transition, Vegas put a loop clip at the end or start and transition with lenght about 30fr is terrible ... I didn`t know about needs for fades between every clips ... So there`s my questions:

Can I easily create fades from cut in whole project [somehow automaticaly]?
Or is there any way how vegas can do the same like pinnacle .. ie. take a bit of each clip and use it in transition? Rather than add some loop if there`s no extra lengh which was cut out?

Thanks for any help.
Boris

To create the transitions, just OVERLAP the events - don't resize them, just move them so they overlap. There are some scripts available that will do this for a whole series of clips at once (i.e. Gap Wizard in Excalibur)

Hmm, and where I can find those scripts?
Thx

Vegas also allows automatic cross fades to be applied to events but this needs to be set up 'prior' to placing media on the timeline. From the pulldown menu: Options > Preferences > Editing > Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added. Check the checkbox and set the Cut-to-overlap conversion parameters to suit your needs.
