Vegas 4 Beta won't play - please help

Hi

I'm running Vegas 4 beta on a Win98SE machine, with a Maxi Studio ISIS soundcard (yep, crap card, I know).

Vegas 3 and Forge work just fine, but when I hit play in Vegas 4 I get the error:

"An error occurred while starting playback. An unexpected error has occurred." When I press details, it says "The playback device ISIS 1/2 Analog/SPDIF Playback does not exist."

This happens both in Windows Sound Mapper and Windows Classic Wave Driver mode. ASIO, well, it's an old card and the machine just reboots!

Does anyone know what's going on here? I know for a fact that the playback device does exist - all other audio software is fine.

Really appreciate any ideas on this.

Thanks
GR

Sounds to me like Vegas is trying to use this card's SPDIF output and it's either not assigned or not recgonized. Switch the Vegas defualt output to the first two outputs on your card (1+2) or whatever this card has.

Curzin - I've tried all the outputs, and none of them want to work. They all work in VV3. This is weird.

If anyone else has any ideas here, I'd really appreciate it. I'm desperate to try out the beta...!

BUMP!

I mailed the beta team about this but they haven't got back to me yet. Has anyone got any ideas here? I'd appreciate it so much if someone could get Vegas 4 working with my sound card...

Thanks
