Vegas 4, curious?

How many of you out there are still using Vegas 4? We've gotten a few mails from folks asking for Ultimate S for Vegas 4, and so we're *considering* it.
We'd have to cripple a few tools, simply because Vegas 4 doesn't support certain functions.
But we'd love to hear from those that are still using V4, and would be interested in Ultimate S.

I am still using V4. It is a hobby so I can't justify updating right now.

My guess is that quite a few are hesitating the upgrade, not to Vegas 5, but to XP (or 2000). For me, even though I bought XP Pro only a few weeks after Vegas 5 came out, I have not yet installed it. Now, with Acid Pro (which I have dicided to get) also requiring the XP, I yield.

We use Vegas 4 in one studio, Vegas 5 in another. I'm interested.

I have V4.
Depends what would be crippled, and what the price would be.
I don't use multiple cameras, so that function could go. ;-)

I'm also "just" a hobbyist, so price is definitely a factor. However, if it's a big bang for a little buck...

but I feel relevant...have either you or Johnyroy received my email (To info vasst/sundance(?)) regarding Pal widescreen stuff?

Thanks,

Paul
Ps. apologies to all!

If it didn't go to the support at VASST, no one is there to receive it. Support at VASST dot com goes to multiple locations, that's why we ask folks to send mail to that address in both the help files and the FAQ pages and tutorial pages. Please send ALL support questions to the address specified.
And no, I've not received it. I'm currently in Hawaii for the Sony video expo and a little R&R. Everyone else returns from AES tomorrow.

I am yet using Vegas 4 because it is so stable in my setup; would certainly be interested in Ultimate S.

use 4 quite heavily for bumpers, openers, closers. am thinking about 5, but can't seem to justify the cost when i really want an lcd screen (dream on...)

what would be crippled?

I still use vegas4 and I'm happy with it. After hearing the bugs on this forum on vegas5 there is no use on me paying $276 for vegas5 and DVD2 to get problems with my system. Ultimate S would be a + for vegas4 please don't charge a lot we are still amateurs trying to learn this program.

Paul, I didn't receive anything either. Feel free to post to the DMN Scripting forum. Those do go directly to my email account.

Thank you Spot and JohnnyRoy...

I have posted at DMN and have a great reply...(Paul D B over there...) Thanks for the solution and I am glad the question was of some help...just wanted to say that I purposely emailed rather than posting in the event that it could be of some help...

BTW, I checked the emaill address I sent and it is a info at sundance which is the address available on the all things vegas page at Vasst (EDIT: make that the "contact us" link)...Looked around a bit but was unable to find another alternative on the site itself (didn't do much looking but it wasn't obvious to me...but there again that's me!)

Thanks again for a great product and support!

Paul.
