Vegas 5 AC-3

I'm a casual Vegas user (home movies, etc.) and have recently installed my copy of Vegas 5 (and DVD Architect 2) on a new PC. Now when I go to render to AC-3, I'm getting a pop-up window asking me to enter a serial number for an AC-3 plug-in. It's been so long since I first installed the software, I don't remember having to enter this additional serial number, nor do I believe I still know what the number is. There is also an option to click on labeled "Buy Now", but if I do this it links to an obsolete page on the Sony web site (if I understand correctly, the separate AC-3 plug-in is itself obsolete).

Version 5 is really perfectly suitable for my needs, so I'd like to avoid upgrading unless absolutely necessary. Can anyone advise what my options might be?

Go to your 'My Account" above and your serials should be available to you.

Having both Vegas and DVDA installed and registered should automatically activate the AC3 plugin.
Sounds like you've lost the registration on your system, I've had this happen with some plugins, not AC3, and used the Utilities function to re-register the plugins.
Go to Start/Programs/Sony/Ultilities/Migration Tools and try the Register Sony DirectX Plugins option. May not help but it can't hurt.
