From my understanding, it was only when V-6 and thereafter came out that it had more stable and "real" HD muscle. But this isn't informed, technical feedback. Just past hearsay, which may or may not be accurate.

You can always call Sony up and ask 'em :)

Forget about it. That's true but it's not free. You need to go to the CineForm website and download the trial and then decide to buy it because you can't capture HDV in Vegas 5 without it. Since Connect HD costs $249, you would be much better off upgrading to Vegas Pro 8.0 for a only $149 and save yourself $100 and get better HDV support from Vegas Pro 8 than Vegas 5 could ever do. (Vegas 5 did NOT do a good job of handling HDV files on the timeline)

Thanks for the reply. I thought that might be the answer so I downloaded the V8 trial and I am playing with it now.
