Vegas 5 and Soundforge 7 bug(?)

MRe wrote on 5/2/2004, 5:06 AM
Hi,
when I try to edit a soundclip from Vegas (Open copy in Sound Forge) Vegas crashes. This did not happen with Vegas 5 trial. Yesterday I downloaded the "real" version; uninstalled trial and installed the complete version.

My versions are: Vegas 5a build 134 and SF 7a build 262.

I'm happy to provide more information of my setup if someone tells me what is required.

Below is the crash dump from Vegas:

And update:
Vegas does not crash if I open the clip just for editing, i.e. not open copy (ctrl-e). And there is still another 95 GB free space on the disk...

I don't get the same thing. A few questions.
1. What driver are you using in Vegas? ASIO? Classic Wave? Microsoft Sound Mapper?
2. Which driver are you using in Sound Forge?
3. What format is the original file? Wave?/.MP3? 24bit/96Khz?Stereo/mono?
4. What Sound Card are you using?

I'm at the work right now but I recall that I'm using Direct Sound Surround Mapper.

>2. Which driver are you using in Sound Forge?

Microsoft Sound Mapper

>3. What format is the original file? Wave?/.MP3? 24bit/96Khz?Stereo/mono?

.wav mono

>4. What Sound Card are you using?

Motherboard integrated (Abit AI7) 5.1 sound

The strange thing is:
- why it was working with Vegas 5 demo?
- why it works OK if I open the same clip with the same settings directly for editing (ctrl-e) but crashes if I open it as a copy (which will then became as new take)??

OK. I changed the audio clip I was using and now it works OK. Go figure...
