VEGAS 5 compatibility with Videonics FS-4 Firestore file formats

Hi fellas, I considering purchasing a Videonics FS-4 Firestore Direct to Edit, Portable DV to Disk Recorder to work with VEGAS 5 and a Panasonic PV-GS400. Videonics FS-4 work with the following file formats:

RawDV (.dv)
AVI Type 1 (.avi)
AVI Type 2 (.avi)
AVI Type 2 24p (.avi)
Canopus AVI (.avi)
Matrox AVI (.avi)
Quicktime (.mov)
QuickTime 24p (.mov)

Are these file formats compatible with VEGAS 5?

Thanks,

Lawrence

every format up there is compatible with Vegas, even the Canopus and Matrox IF you install their codecs.

Thank you Spot!

By the way, I´m looking forward for the release of the Now Hear This! DVD from VASST. The Streaming Preview #3 is really cool :-)

It's shipping on Tuesday of next week. FINALLY cleared all the legal crap and it's at the replicators, consisting of 2 DVD9's.

Hi Spot,
Been waiting for this a while. There is still no pre-order info on the site. Will there be soon?

Cheers and Happy New Year!
Tom

We decided to hold the pre-orders due to the troubles we got into. We'll likely just take it live when we have the DVDs in our hot lil' hands next week or shortly after. We'd hoped to have them in our hands by CES, but it's just not gonna happen due to the holidays. It IS at the replicator now, so it's good to go.

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life...but I found out the hard way that vegas (6c) cannot use AVI Type 1 files...sees them as corrupt. Found this out the hard way as an entire weekend shoot was done mistakenly in avi1
