You knows something about this?

Do you have a .bak file for that project? Locate it, and it will likely open, if you have it. good luck!
(can't help you w/the code)

Do you have stills (BMP, JPEG) in your project? This is the same crash address that other users have reported crashing on projects that incorporate stills.

We believe we may have a fix for the problem in 5.0b, coming soon. We were never able to reproduce the problem here though.

Were you able to open this project until recently? A couple of users have had some success by uninstalling Photoshop 7, then they were able to load their projects that contained stills.

Yes, I have some stills..
I was able to open that project until I have added the stills..
Also the .bak file was unable to open.
I have Photoshop 6, but I didn't try to uninstall it..
Therefore, how can I prevent that crash in the future until the 5.0b version will be ready? (I want incorporate stills in my projects...)
Thanks

I've tried to insert some stills in a project and I noticed that vegas crash...
It doesn't crash if the stills are obtained by using the velocity envelope at 0% on a timeline event.
Is that a valid solution for bypassing problem until next 5.0b release?
Thanks.

I experienced exactly the same problem. Mine turned out to be the result of importing a bitmap image. Everything was fine unitl I saved it and tried to re-open the file - instant crash. My fix was to re-save the bitmap as a jpeg. No more crashes.
If you're crashing using jpegs, save them as something else (bmp. png, etc.).

Thanks for suggestions, Mike..
About this problem, I've also noticed that my friends doesn't have any problem importing bmp, jpeg or using stills in projects, although they've installed Photoshop 7.
That probably means that the problem depends on the computer hardware/software configuration...
I'll change computer.... or hobby! :-)

Don't do that Salvatore. As SonyTSW said, there should be a fix for this in 5.0b coming out shortly. They are aware of the problem and several users, myself included, have sent them our crash dumps, system info, etc. but Sony has been unable to recreate the problem. I've got Photoshop 7 on my machine but others who don't have it still had crashes. Mine was a bmp problem. With others, it was other file formats. And yet, numerous other folks with similar configurations have had NO problems whatsoever. Unfortunately Sony has not been able to nail it down :-(

Vegas 5.0b has been posted. We've put in some changes that should have addressed this bug. Please install 5.0b let us know how it goes (we were never able to make it happen here).
