Has anyone noticed that the "War Epic Light" setting and "War Epic Dark" are identical- they don't change at all when you toggle between the two. It looks like the both are simply applying the "War Epic Light" setting.

Also, does the presets in MB add de-interlacing? I'm wondering because even on a P4 3.0 ghz w/ 1gig of PC3200 ram I'm only getting 1 frame a second on "Best Full"!

I don't think they do. I rendered a very short test clip and brought it back in -- interlace lines still present. While the looks are nice, they take forever to render (on my 2.2g P4, about 1 minute per second of timeline). For the time being, I'm sticking with color gradiants and other manual adjustments, then using DV Film Maker to deinterlace.
