I have just upgraded from Vegas 3 to Vegas 5 and have found the time it takes to render MPEG2 videos much slower.

Last night I was trying to render an MPEG2 file from a series of WMV files I had merged together and edited.

The clip was only about 58 seconds and it took nearly 6 to 8 minutes to render!

In Vegas 3 it took merely a fraction of that time.

I also tried with several other WMV and AVI clips all of which took about the same amount of time... so it wasn't the file.

I am running this on a dual 3.4 mhz processor box with over a GB of very high speed bus ram... so processing should not be an issue.

Encoding at standard full screen PAL resolution at good quality setting...

Is there anything that may be holding this process up?
