Looking for workarounds for things that seem to be broken:
1.
Apply a filter (sat adjust, c curves, bright contrast) to a clip. Set, name and save setting.
Go to top of clip and start to apply. The default is 'linear' which seems to last one frame.
Set linear to hold. It doesn't have anything to hold to (which makes sense) so the filter fails after one frame.
Copy hold and put at end of clip. Now the effect holds to the hold.
Except sometimes it doesn't. The copy at the end of the timeline is now 'untitled' and has to be reset to the setting saved.
Sometimes this works. I find that the filter window has to be visible or everything resets to untitled.
2.
Vegas has always had a problem knowing what a frame is. This continues, but is more amusing than earlier versions. Go to options and try to set a paste into the time line as 1 frame. Can't do it. Vegas thinks it is 0. Eventually, by indicating a value of slightly more than one frame it will paste one frame.
But, the pasted frame is only 2/3rds the width of a frame on the time line. So each pasted frame has to be dragged right to fill the frame. The frames I'm using are rendered off the vegas time line to start with.
3.
Anyone know what colors are correct these days? The color in vegas, windows media player, nero's player and windvd are all different, wildly so. Vegas looks the best, windows media player comes in second, down hill from there.
Mainconcept doesn't seem to be helping. Mpeg-2 renders so the color in Vegas and almost in Windows media player are okay. Mpeg-1 is over saturating the reds across the board. Since this is a known problem with squashing a jpeg (red smears) it might be nice to compensate for it.
