Sony promised to fix the Sharpen FX problem in the next update.

I tested the 2d Glow keyframe problem. The keyframes disappear. Another major bug.

Also, there is a bug (another hold over from Vegas 5) that crashes Vegas when you create a marker, region, or cd track label of more than a certain number of characters, and then perform an undo operation (move the marker, then hit undo, CRASH).

I reported that one in July of 2004:
http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=374927

How is it that almost a year goes by and this crash bug has not been fixed - even in a NEW RELEASE? It's so easy to reproduce - and I'm so sick of losing work. Working without the undo function is kind of a schizophrenic experience..

Zaza - very interesting to hear about Vegas being used in China.

Glad you reported these problems - I'm sure they're being looked at by those that matter, so stay tuned for updates.

Meantime - how about telling us Westerners about the Vegas scene in your country?

Vegas increased gradually in the past two years in the Chinese users, some people from Adobe Premiere pro or Ulead software transfers uses Vegas. At present mainland China Vegas legal copy user very are few, on the one hand the reason is the Vegas selling price while the price will be later expensive by the China Yuan(RMB) exchange rate, on the other hand the reason is Vegas in the mainland at present merely by our website in the promotion, has not obtained Sony official more attention and the support. My has last year published Vegas teaching books in Taiwan, the next month will publish another book about Vegas in mainland China.

Peter,
Pirated software is a commonplace phenomenon in China. That is unfortunately the "current state of affairs" with Vegas as well as other multimedia software in China.

craftech :

I cannot approve your view completely, reported according to the present media, pirates the activity is the entire worldwide basis question, In here also discovered some westerners pirate the software in the use.

Also, I continuously am seeking the legal copy sale way. Please do not talk into few people's behaviors are the national behavior. this thinking mode is extremely ridiculously childish.

I didn't mean that you do that ZAZA, but from what I have read, pirating seems to be a national issue in China more so than in many other regions of the world due to the high level of poverty. If you say that isn't the truth than I won't argue with you because you live there and would know if it is true or not true. But that is what many magazine articles seem to say.
See here and here.

John

yes - ZAZA .. it is a global issue .. welcome to the forum and thank you for your report .. It is good to hear of Vegas users in China ..

craftech - i don't think sony will take a very good view of you posting a warez site with their products on it on sony 's own forum.....

It was just to serve a point of illustration. Don't forget, pirated software sites, porn sites, and music download sites are all very good ways to invite trojans and other malware into your computer.

John

Anyway I removed the link.
