Vegas 6 crashing on me. Help

Here's what most recently happened. After a long editing project with about 50 tif files and a music bed, I got the following message while changing some crop and pans:

Does anyone know what happened??

Additionally, when I try to render the project, Vegas dies when rendering about the 3rd picture.

I'm now trying the project on Vegas 5 and it seems to be running through fine.

Any ideas?

You didn't mention your system specs, but a few of us have had similar problems with 2 Gb of ram, and so far the solution has been to reduce the ram allocated to dynamic rendering to 400Mb.

May not apply to you, but just in case ....

Also, see

I was having all kinds of problems, which went away completely after replacing ALL my RAM. This after the memory tested good.

I do in fact have 2 gig of ram.

So apparently Vegas 6 has trouble using that much memory?

I'll lower the dynamic rendering setting and see what happens.

However, this makes me wonder, what benefit is there have so much memory if I have to lower settings to make the software more stable???

Firstly, this has not been definitively identified as a cause, just that several including me have avoided crashes by reducing render ram. My crashes have only happened so far when rendering, not general editing, but other experiences may have varied.

If it is a cause, it's been suggested it could be something in Windows rather than Vegas.

Either way, I'm hoping it's not a permanent situation.
