VEGAS 6 Film Effect bug?

Former user wrote on 4/19/2005, 6:52 PM
I'm creating a "historical" look for a short promo video. However, the film effect in Vegas 6 is...well...pretty static looking. Can anyone reproduce this problem on their system:

- film effect dust, scratches, etc don't animate...they just sit there like they were drawn on a transparency and overlaid.

I'm also having problems with playback of Mpeg 2 files (they keep sticking in windows media player). Don't know if this is a real issue or not. First things first though...can anyone verify the film effects thing as a bug/issue?

the film effects do seem to have a problem ..

windows media player never did play back mpeg2 well - really depends what mpeg2 codec you have installed ..

use a better media player ("Media Player Classic" or PowerDVD)

Thanks for verifying the FX bug.

As for the render, mpeg2 has been playing back fine when rendered in Vegas 5. 6, well, it's odd. I get about 2 to 3 seconds of normal playback and then the player freezes.

I'm rendering using the DVD Architect DVD Stream codec in both 5 and 6. I'd really rather not switch back to 5 until 6 is unbugged...I really like the nested projects.
