Madison, Wisconsin, March 16, 2005 10:53 A.M. ... Sony's president, Ineeda Vakayshun, announced today that it's new version of the popular video editor will compete head to head with Microsoft Office. "We have finally eliminated the irritating video tracks and have replaced them with a word processor, a spreadsheet and a free subscription to Encarta." said Vakaysun. Compatability has been an issue that Sony has been struggling with for many versions. "Our customers can now import Excel spreadsheets directly into the media pool saving them time and money", he went on to say.

4 Important questions:

1.Will it run on a Playstation? (any version)...
2.Is it totally compatible with Star Office?...
3.Can i hope for the little bicycle helper always knocking on my LCD when there is no need for it?
4.Will it works with fabulous PowerPoint transitions and special FX?

:-)

Thanks for the news... I was just about to buy Office.
The upgrade from V4 to V6 will be cheaper than buying Office.

...and in an interview with Sony's VP of Marketing, Mr. Lookin Forajob, it was revealed that Sony was tired of competitor product comparisons and decided to change its name from Vegas to Final Premiere Cut Avid Pro 6. "This should resolve any problems in positioning the product in the marketplace" he said...

I thought you'd find that 5 years ago UMD discs that were low quality, small, & unable to be read in DVD-Rom, but now are the greatist thing.

And Vegas can read/write to them. :)

Great timing! I was just about to unwrap V5.0D! When do you think V7 will be out? And what does this app do, anyway? You guys have really tried it, right?

the implementation of the new Liquid 2000 Edius 2500 Pro 500 RTX engine. "It's
end to end." He was quoted as saying when quiried about the new protocol.
"It's faster and better, a seamless solution, because it's end to end..."

Is it true that with the new "Thinkmate" input, you won't need a mouse, keyboard or other input device??

I heard you just think about what you want and it renders a fully edited video.

Clipman, you got the name all wrong. An earlier thread was discussing how "Vegas" got it's name. Well for this new word processor enhanced version Sony has decided to release the original official intended name to elliminate all confusion as to what direction the Vegas development is really headed. That name is "Kamelian v1.0". It's the app that changes it color depending on the new marketing strategy environment it latches onto. So as you can see the Microsoft office features should be no surprise to anyone, as Sony saw an opportunity in this market sector. Don't worry current video users, Kamelian will keep developing new Video features with every new release, although that development cycle may be split up over long periods of time, as to guarantee to keep you guessing. In future versions Sony has promised to keep with the same development strategy as it always has, so not to confuse the current user base, in that eventually they will make an official statement that Kamelian is not an NLE, but a word processor with exceptional video editing features. Some video users may be discouraged once Kamelian reaches this development cycle, but Sony has everything worked out, where they'll refer them to the Vegas "Audio" forum, where there is an entire support group who have learned to cope with this very same situation.

Kamelian 1.0 coming soon.........

In a statement to the Associated Press, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates announced that, "In light of the ever incresing dependency on Sony Vegas in the marketplace Microsoft has decided to incorporate Vegas 6 into it's next OS which will be called Windows X-PP. It will assume the roll of official Ad Blocker in the OS by employing it's own pop-up window of a "flash frame" from elsewhere on the internet and insert "audio flatlines" in unwanted MP3 files. Moreover, Windows X-PP will have a "ripple edit" function that will intentionally leave gaps in spam to thwart hackers".

I think we should send the programmers pizza's, chedderburgers, and 10 quart cokes and maybe bribe them to figure out the black frames.

Now *that* is funny! Thanks I needed a hearty laugh this morning.

EDIT - For some odd reason I feel like singing Styx songs after reading this thread. (And Spamalot opened last night on Broadway - not that this info has any sort of relation to this thread. )
