I really thougth Live Capture (ala DVRack) would be there but it appears my source was wrong on that and also on the nero codec inclusion. All in all it looks like a very strong release for both products. Now if they would only get the trial posted.
Thanks Spot, you cleared up the confusion I was having with the Windows Secondary Display feature. Now I'll have use for some of these spare monitors lying around. Hmm...guess I'll need a 3rd VGA port now too...
Here's my choice picks so far from your VASST site report - thanks for doing this! - You may want to see that there is an "arrow" that has gone walkabout on your web page - yeah?
For me . . * * * * Workflow solutions - BIG TIME!
1 - "Vegas then renders a small file very quickly, that acts as a reference file. " This is truly neat. How quickly will it render this small ref file?
2 - Amazing! "You can even color correct or match images in the master project! So, here's one of several real-world uses for this feature. . . " No more bobong about to and from the "other" projects. Does the CC drill down to the other Veg too?
3 - This is HOW I work just by myself! "You're working on a 48 minute broadcast piece, and you've got a partner working on the teasers and interstitials, or bumps. You're cutting the packages. As you rough cut the packages together, he provides you with the interstitials, teasers, and bumps" - TOO excellent!
4 - "Playhead scrubbing" . .the simplest of things make SUCH a major difference - eh?
5 - If the render speeds apply to me, with my 3.2 2gb P4 ASUS mobo PC then I'll be unbearable for the next few months!
. . .just these 5 have made me sit up - here in London. So much more to welcome this new incarnation of Vegas.
I guess Serious Magic announces their HDVRack today.
So far V6 looks very sweet but I am way too tired to play much with it tonight. Got to get some sleep so I can get up early and start reading reports of other stuff at NAB.
Nested projects.
An A/V sync tool.
Fixed Ripple Editing.
Faster rendering.
Better media management.
Thanks, Sony for listening to many of our requests.
Doug (or other beta-testers), do the new Media Manager tools let you shuffle thumbnails around and add them to the timeline in a selected order, like a storyboard?
Thanks, Marquat. The article has been added to by just a little since last night. I don't expect it to change again, but I'd failed to mention a particular new feature. (render includes project paths)
