Set up Win Vista Biz 64bit on early 2009 Mac Pro 8 core. Vegas 8 32bit does NOT render to anything at all. Keeps prompting an error or hangs totally. Vegas9a is unusable as it does not read avi (Neoscene from 5D2) and Magic bullet Looks 1.2.
The same setup works on my Macbook Pro (2008).
HELP!!!!
I'm using bootcamp. I installed the 32bit last nite and it works ok for editing. But it still cant render. Keeps prompting some error... How does win 7 works without bootcamp? Sounds like a great solution in the making. We do not have access to that in Asia till 22th Oct unforuntately.
i updated vista with SP2, and the prob still persists.
Vegas 8.0c - Crashes when editing
Vegas 9.0a - Hangs at 6% during the rendering. Stable for editing
Vegas 9.0a 64bit - Hangs at 100% render. Does not get out of the loop.
Trying Win 7 next. How is it possible to run W7 without bootcamp?
I just made the Windows 7 ISO DVD and booted from it.
During installation Windows 7 even fetched things/drivers it needed directly from the internet - and afterwards I just had to get the latest sound driver directly from Realtek in order to solve a sound problem.
I am no expert - but it seems that Windows 7 is made with support for both BIOS - and for the newer EFI in Mac Pro which made the Boot Camp necessary for Windows versions up till now.
Wait until October 22 ?? - we must too - but we just use the RC 1 which seems to run as rock stable as Windows XP - and is updated regularly under the Windows Update system.
Thanks! Sounds interesting. So I think it works like bootcamp? And you have the option to choose which HDD to boot up from.
I upgraded Vista 64 bit to Win7 R2 64 bit last night. It started pretty fast compared to Vista. I launched Vegas9a 32bit and Magic Bullet Looks 1.2 failed to load. Didnt have the time to try a render.
I will try out the XP 32bit simulator next to see if MB looks can be started. I suspect that is the cause of the render failure so far. The strange thing is I do not have a problem in my Macbook Pro having the same setup!
I found the problem. It lies with MB Looks 1.2!! So far, all my plugins work in Vegas 9a well under WIN7 R2. Only MB looks cannot work even when I manually forced Looks builder to run under XP SP2 mode.
Initally there was a prompt that ATI HD4000 series are not supported. After upgrading the drivers the builder launches individually, but I do not see all the presets.
In Vegas, I see that the plugin is not loading. But when I click on a track with the FX (done on another MB pro), i see a "no name" under the FX tab. Clicking on it activates the CC. However it doesnt render. Hangs at 1%.
