Make that three times. On average I'd say I'm getting a crash every three minutes! Before I go back to 6b (which still sucks), how do I disable the media manager?

Under Options.

What's crashing it for you? I crash if I try to put multiple m2ts on the timeline.

Using a second computer screen for preview seems to be screwed up now where it was working pretty well in 6b. I've had trouble several times now switching between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios where 6c will not preview at the right aspect ratio after being changed. I also think that I was previewing video this way on all my crashes.

Supplying any level of further detail about the crashes would go a long way towards troubleshooting.

Are you seeing a Dr. Watson crash dump? Please post the contents if so.
What type of files are involved?
Are you rendering?
Previewing?
Are the crashes with old projects? New projects?
Can you reproduce the crash at the same point with the same project each time?

I am getting a lockup (going to task manager and seeing a not responding message) when trying to open a large project. I need to further investigate and get back with more details. It gets to about 20 % and stops loading. The hard drive does nothing.

On a positive note, so far, 6c appears to be playing my old dv files encoded with a pinnacle capture card. That is a positive step.

I'm watching this thread. Still have V6c update on my desktop - 4 feet away from my NLE pc.

I have lockups - task manager reports 'not responding' - whenever I play video from the trimmer. However, it plays ok from the timeline.

For me, it's just putting anything more than one M2T on the timeline. The M2Ts were created in Vegas 6.0b. I haven't tried digitizing with 6c yet.
As soon as I have more than one (old) m2t on the TL, Vegas 6c locks up and I have to End Task out.

It has crashed on me twice simply when trying to open a sample veg file.

I upgraded to 6c today.

I tried two unmodified (captured a couple of months ago) HDV M2Ts, one at a time, and both at the same time, on the timeline with no error.

I then tried two rendered HDV M2Ts from version 6b, one at a time and both on the timeline at the same time. No errors.

None of the clips were over 10 minutes in length.

I am not using Media Manager (turned off in options/preferences.

Did you also update to DVDA 3c? Isn't that where the updated Main Concept codecs are distributed?

Both, Vegas 6b and 6c, shows an error, if you open 50 to 60 m2t single files. That is nothing new, and has been reported earlier. And that is not changed in 6c, it is improved a little bit at the best.

But it is still possibel to open a smaller number of m2t files.
