Vegas 7.0 Digital Noise on recorded tracks

I am getting digital noise in tracks recorded in Vegas.

I am using two M-Audio Delta sound cards, one 1010 and one Audiophile 192.

The 1010 is the master.

The tracks that are recorded from the outputs on the 1010 are clean for the first several seconds, then become extremely noise. The tracks recorded from the Audiophile 192 are clean.

When I record from the 1010 into Sound Forge there is no problem.

Please help.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Do you have an spdif input enabled ? I have found that an otherwise idle one of these (on an Audiophile 2496) can upset things especially if set to a different sample-rate.

spdif input on the 1010 is being used, and the spdif input on the 192 is connected to the spdif out of the 1010 for syncing. I don't know if it's possible to set them to different sample rates.

You said The 1010 is the master.
then later spdif input on the 1010 is being used
surely that is the problem; the Device sending into 1010 spdif input has to be the Master Clock, and 1010 must be Slave to that.... unless you have already arranged that the Device is also Slave to 1010 Clock.

I used a M-Audio Delta 1010 from the moment it hit the market and battle with noise problems the whole time I had it until finally giving up on ever resolving the problems. I gave mine away and bought a Firestudio interface which has been nothing short of awesome.

M-Audio say they updated the driver for Win. 7 64 bit, but no one has really been happy and many have done the same thing I have... just gave up on M-Audio.

It seems to be a trend that once a company has satisfied the users in at least posting a new driver for said product, knowing full well that for most it will not solve the issues because the hardware is simply out of date, they ignore the complaints. M-Auido has done just that. No more updates and no more fixes. The Delta 1010 is caput.

Buy something better... and a lot cheaper.
