just a head's up that I found my new v8 install to crash when my cineform codec was not installed and I opened a project with a video with the cineform codec.

in fact, it doesn't crash with the windows message, it just disappears fast.

reinstalled vegas 7 to figure out what was wrong and sure enough vegas 7 doesn't crash but the video shows red and you can see in the properties what the codec is and that's when I realized what was happening.

install the codec and all is good with version 8.

just f yi, maybe the sony (sonic foundry?) developers will take note for a more graceful handling.
