Vegas 8 Installation problem

MomentsVideos wrote on 9/11/2007, 4:00 PM
I installed Vegas 8 on my old machine, no problem, it first of all had to install .NET Framework 3.0, no problems.

However, tried to install it on my main editing machine and it can't get past the .NET 3.0 installation. As Vegas 8 relies on this, Vegas doesn't get installed.

Tried installing the .NEt framework first from MS, but the error log gives the following error...

[09/11/07,18:22:55] Windows Communication Foundation: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Windows Communication Foundation. MSI returned error code 1603
[09/11/07,18:23:08] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Windows Communication Foundation is not installed.

I am stumped. There are a few suggestions about this but non of them have worked for me.

Anybody else had this problem? Solutions?

What OS are you using - will make it easier to navigate through the MS knowledge base if no-one else has a ready-for-you answer.

I am using XP Home edition, same as the machine where it installed correctly.

I have gone through the MX Knowledgebase and tried pretty much everything, no good.

Hi Moments

I tried to google the error, and it seems to be a known .NET problem.

I'm not an expert, but it seems a bid hardcore to read and resolve.

Do you have an image of a clean XP with driovers updates etc. you could roll on?

I aleays make an image of mi harddrive with OS only just in case to be able to roll back to that.

If you don't have it and want, I can mail you a "Norton Ghost 2003" software to make images to DVD-burner or external harddrive. If you want, please e-mail me your snail-mail adress.
