Vegas 8 Platinum zapping media center

I recently installed Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum and I immediately got an error saying "Windows Media Center Receiver Service has stopped working". Now I can't play live TV thru my TV tuner card.

Does anyone else have this problem? I've read on the web that Sony Vegas 7 caused this problem for a few users, too.

Any info will be greatly appreciated,

I can't tell you what happened on your system but I can tell you that I installed Vegas 8 Platinum and can still use Media Center to watch TV on my system.

Are you using Windows Vista Home Premium? Maybe I should have stated my operating system.

I read it could be related to codecs. ??

I'm using XP Home Media Center.

Where exactly is that message coming from?

Have you tried restarting the service?

I have an HP m480n Media Center PC running XP. I recently upgraded to Service Pack 2, added 1 Gig of ram, and loaded Vegas 8 Platinum, and had no problem with my TV viewing.
