Has anyone tried the tiffen filter package? (it was listed in the review linked to above). I am curious if it is worth the price and if they really do achieve the equivalent to their tangible counterparts.

As I understand, Tiffen Dfx is not a Vegas plugin.

It sorta looks like a list made up so as not to offend anybody. Both Premiere and FCP are listed as well, but that's in a tie for the best suite.

my question was this. They say Vegas was the video editing software, but when you watch thier vid cast how come they only show examples in Premiere and FCP. I have never seen them give an example with vegas. To bad I guess people could see how much better it is to edit in Vegas

It's funny how the others get the title "Best Suite' when nearly everything their Suite can do... Vegas can do by itself. I wonder why there is never any mention of that?

I think if Sony took the approach of showing things the other guys need a Suite to accomplish... Vegas can do by itself... then I think we would make some headway in getting noticed a bit more in the Pro world. After all, wouldn't you prefer to just learn 1 app that can do most everything or would you rather have to learn a Suite?

Well you can do slightly more with the suite, mainly because of one or two tricks you can do in After Effects, but yeah, Vegas does 90% of what it takes a suite to do with everyone else's software.

The Adobe Suite has Photoshop, After Effects, Flash and Illustrator. Sony of course has nothing to compete with any of these.

Apple has Motion 3 and Color. Both are superior to what Vegas offers in image manipulation and color correcting. And while the titler in V8 is much improved, it's definitely no LiveType.
