Contact NewBlue as they are extremely helpful when it comes to customer support. They will have a definite fix for you on this issue.

In the meantime, have you tried restoring your system to a previous point before this issue ocurred?

Thanks for the rely. Yes I've tried a restore point with no luck. I also have Vegas 8.0c installed and it has the same issue.

I have a ticket in with New Blue and I'll see what they have to say. Their plugings have been working for months with no issues.

I'm having the same problems with Vegas 9.0cx 32bit suddenly hanging at the same place. But I've uninstalled all the Nublue FX and the problem is still occuring. I don't think the blame lies in that corner.

strike that!

After deleting all the Nublue FX I went into program files (86) and found all the folders were stil in there. I managed to delete them all except Motion Blends, which is stil locked by Register Server - I'm hoping that a restart will unlock it.

After deleting all the New Blue folders and doing a complete razed earth regedit for all keys that included the words 'Motionblends' then Vegas 32 would start up again. Now I'm going to try reinstalling them one by one.

If you're not familiar with registry editing then please make a backup of your registry before trying this at home :-)

I received a response from New Blue. They suggested re-installing the EssentialsII
plug-in and then uninstalling it.

I did this and it uninstalled properly unlike before. Vegas now starts properly. I haven't tried re-installing the New Blue plug-ins yet.

Glad I didn't have to edit the registry. That makes me nervous.

I found a solution to my version of this problem:
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

This codec pack contains a tool to detect broken directx plugins. When you install it, uncheck all the codecs (unless you want them) and just leave the tools at the bottom of the choices list.

When the pack itself installs it will prompt you to remove any bad entries. Then you can run the tool "quick codec check" and it will do a deeper dive, depending on which options you pick.

nothing else worked for me. I tried the newblue reinstall/uninstall with no luck. While i had their products, I'm not sure they were the problem.
What made me look wider was a run of "dxdiag" which is part of windows.
It wouldnt complete, saying there was something wrong with my directshow.
