problem with QT files from Mac computer

Hello Everyone,

A person handed me off files on a hard drive that were shot with a Sony XDCAM EX-1 at 1080, 30p.

The camera man then used SONY XDCAM Transfer v2.12.0 to transfer the files onto a hard-drive as QT XDCAM EX 1080p30 (35 Mb/s VBR) files.

When I import into Vegas, there is no image. I am sure this is a codec issue with my QT program - google search brought up no relevant results.

Oh yes, I am on Vista 32-bit.

Can anyone help me work with these files?

Standing by,
Greg

This is going to be a shot in the dark and if it helps all the better.
I use XDCAM EX with my set up all the time and what I have to do to ingest (import) video is go to the VIEW tab and find DEVICE EXPLORER. A new window will show up (mine has XDCAM EX Device as the only option to choose) right click on the XDCAM EX Device and then choose browse. Find the hard drive with the video and try to ingest it that way. I will be honest I have never used SONY XDCAM Transfer v2.12.0 so this may not work. my only other advice is to get the original media from the camera persons cards and start from scratch . i hope this helps in some way.

Unfortunately, i have files on an external drive that was given to me... so the importing process was already done with a Apple computer.
